Last week, 64 people were arrested by Western Cape Provincial Traffic officers on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. During the same period, 15 pedestrians were killed in traffic crashes in our province.

Efforts to Curb Drunken Driving / 16 July 2012
The Western Cape Department of Transport are in dealing with the police to arrest drunk drivers. The department wants to carry out blood tests on all drunk driving suspects for immediate conviction of crime. Minister of Transport, Robin Carlisle, says that this process is possible and resources are available.
