eNCA News: The War Room on Drunk Driving / 19 August 2013

The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Work’s War-Rooms, formally known as the SHADOW Centres (Safely Home Anti-drunk Driving Operations War-room) were established at the end of 2009.

Since inception up until the 31st of January 2013, 17 704 drunk drivers were tested, of which the highest breath alcohol limit recorded was that of 2.17 mg/l - nine (9) times the legal limit of 0.24 mg/l.
