Last week, 64 people were arrested by Western Cape Provincial Traffic officers on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. During the same period, 15 pedestrians were killed in traffic crashes in our province.

Minister Carlisle and Plato to Launch Safely Home Road Safety Plan for Easter Weekend / 30 March 2012
On Monday 2 April 2012, the Western Cape Minister of Transport and Public Works, Robin Carlisle, and Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato will launch the Safely Home Road Safety Plan for the Easter Weekend.
Ministers Carlisle and Plato, who will also be joined by Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa, will give extensive details of operations in place to increase safety on the roads of the Western Cape, as well as an overview of the latest fatality stats.
