On Monday, 13 December 2021, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Daylin Mitchell, will officially launch the 2021/22 festive season safety plan at the Gene Louw Traffic College in Brackenfell.
This season’s launch will include the graduation of 87 student traffic officers who will be deployed at various traffic centres across the province.
During the launch, Minister Mitchell will reveal the province’s top 500 habitual offenders that have been placed on the hotlist, the deployment of interception units and the rest of the highway patrol fleet that is fitted with vehicle technology that will be on the lookout for these offenders.

The Western Cape Government is offering FREE ten-point vehicle checks by qualified examiners from Saturday, 23 March to Thursday, 28 March at venues in Cape Town and Drakenstein.
