Tomorrow, Tuesday 14 December 2021, the Western Cape Minister of Transport and Public Works, Daylin Mitchell, will officially open the newly upgraded Haaskraal Road in the Cape Winelands District Municipality.

Construction of the R60 million project commenced on 22 February 2019 with a scheduled completion date of 22 April 2021. However, further amendments to the original road project changed the date of completion.

Haaskraal Road near Zeekoegat had been upgraded to enhance the agriculture, socio and tourism development in the area.

Minister Michell will be joined by Cape Winelands District Executive Mayor, Dr Elna von Schlicht and Drakenstein Mayor, Ald Conrad Poole, during the official opening of the road.
