On behalf of the Western Cape Government, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga, following the passing of her son, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren in a car crash.
According to reports, the family was involved in a car crash outside Ladysmith in KwaZulu Natal on Sunday.
I appeal to the Road Traffic Management Corporation and enforcement authorities to do a thorough investigation of this tragic crash. One life lost is one too many.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Deputy Minister and her family during this time of grief.
